The Mangled Hands

Mangled hands have been turning up all over Africa and the inhabitants are scared. Ten murders in ten weeks, all committed with a rifle, and still nobody has a clue who the cold-blooded killer is.

Mrs Sonya Raymond is an ugly and admirable shopkeeper with a fondness for booze. She doesn't know it yet but she is the only one who can stop the thoughtless killer.

When her brother, Albert Gobble, is kidnapped, Mrs Raymond finds herself thrown into the centre of the investigation. His only clue is a warped hat.

She enlists the help of an intuitive navigator called Marion Hemingway.
