Crazy, I never would have thought of that happening but it seems to make sense. I agree with you that it is also dependent on the prosecutors and how they are able to portray the evidence, but as a normal person I really have no idea what the reality of DNA evidence processing, crime scene investigation, or availability of evidence is.
