Despite Skewed Media Image Black Men Are More Likely to be Victimized Than Other Groups

An honest headline would read: Black men are more likely to be victimized by Black men (via gang violence). They are literally doing this to themselves but nowhere in the body of this propaganda piece is it made clear who the main perpetrator of this egregious “black victimization” is, and while the general gist of the article is fuck white people and fuck the police they do add this interesting caveat:

The current focus of academics and activists on racial equity for defendants and convicted offenders somewhat downplays similar racial disparities in the treatment of victims. And the fact that victims and offenders often share similar social characteristics implies that deeper issues are at play that cannot be fixed by “hot-spot” or “stop-and-frisk” policing tactics.

This is the only tinge of truth in this article. Everyone with at least two brain cells already knows this, but to obfuscate this fact even more they link to a journal article that’s behind a pay wall. It’s as if the author just expects us to take his word for it even when the facts are readily available and free of charge.
