Pakistan vs World XI Series tied with 1 game to go
Friday 15th September 2017
The best of three T20 series between Pakistan and the World IX is one game apiece after two tough games so far with the deciding match of the series to be played tonight.
All smiles as the teams line up for a combined photo before the 2nd game
Pakistan won the first game by successfully defending an impressive 197 for 5 wickets with young Babar Azam hitting a commanding 86 off 52 balls. He was complemented by some great lower order hitting late from Imad Wasim who scored 14 off just the last 3 balls of the innings. It was a result that made the crowd very happy after Pakistani locals had missed out on so much international cricket in recent years.
This guy summed it up pretty well.
The World XI hit back in the second game by successfully chasing the target of 174 that Pakistan had set and this time it was Sri Lankan Thisara Perera who blasted the World XI home with just a ball to spare. Needing 13 runs off the final over it came down to needing 6 off 2 before Perera launched into another big drive down the ground over the bowlers head for SIX in what has become a bit of a trademark shot. In the end he scored 38 off just 16 balls which included 5 sixes….and no fours. That boundary statistic tells a story by itself!
Another huge hit from Thisara Perera
So the stage is set for an exciting finish in the decider tonight. The fairytale factor is certainly in favour of the home team Pakistan and they are slight favourites in the betting markets.
The final match is due to start at midnight AEST tonight and you can stream it live online at https://www.cricketgateway.com/

Great photos mate - however shall not be betting on this one as I am still stinging from the last. Might as well support the home team now. SK.
Got to go with the fairytale factor. I'm backing Pakistan :)
