A Rock is the world most sharpest knife.

The most sharp man made knives are a surgical scalpel but do you a knives made from a natural occurring rock called obsidian are the sharpest knives in the world.
Let me firstly tell you what obsidian is when the lava from any volcanic eruption comes into contact with the air or water on Earth's surface and cools so rapidly that its atoms don't have time to form a regular crystalline structure this results into formation of a glassy stone, called obsidian. It is usually black in color but can also be found in shades of brown or green and can heads.

The obsidian rock is so sharp that it was often used to carry out the surgery in historical times of no blades. The cutting edge of obsidian is 3 nanometers putting things into perspective obsidian knives is so sharp that it can cut through a string of human DNA. Obsidian can cut even sharper then the sharpest materials nanotechnology can produce. Few of the talented doctors use these rocks as a scalpel as they do minimal but sharp cuts and hence the cut heals easily.

They can be found all over the world in areas with volcanic activities, when an obsidian rock is broken it results pieces with extremely sharp edges due to which it was used by prehistoric people to make spear, knives and arrow.

Other then sharp knives obsidian is also used to make gems and other artifacts, you can also buy obsidian products as they are available online too.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it merely used during the bronze age when brain surgery first started? It was experimented with but due to too many disadvantages eventually failed to become a popular tool.
And as far as I know in current times it is not often used because you need to be particularly skilled (though you'd need to be very skilled nonetheless), but due to it being illegal.
And there are sharper "knives" but they get blunt after at most 100 cuts, which makes them pretty much useless compared to obsidian ones.

Yes you are totally correct in al those things you mentioned ... It surely started in the bronze age, And it is illegal to use it for surgery and other perposes .. I saw a video one day of a man trying to cut a tomato by this knife .. the tomato was maashed not cut .. I wonder why was that !!

It was mashed? o.o
Well uhm.... that shouldn't happen lol
Though sharp doesn't always mean "cutting better", but unless you use a knife, as dull as those at my home, a tomatoe wouldn't mash no matter what knife you use...
Either there is something we don't know about or it was fake ^^'

Fascinating, great post, have always liked obsidian. Holding an obsidian sphere in my hand feels powerful! Plus I think this is the equivalent of Dragonglass! Maybe this helped build the pyrimids?

:) wow Dragon glass .. You have a very creative mind ... :) ..... Hope to buy it someday to feel that power
