To another series of creativity. In this series I will share some key factors relating to innovations and creativity which will help you, bring out some great ideas that will change your thinking in areas of creating new ideas.

Creativity which will help you,

Firstly, let me explain what creativity is from another perspective. In one of my articles I describe creativity as Life After Box

Here creativity can be express as an idea or product that changes an existing domain/process or transforms an existing domain into a new one.

On the other hand, we can say it’s the discovery of something that is novel but also useful or relevant or economical, valuable.

In my history of creativity, I have been able to discover that there are different types of creativity. Lets look at them.

Category Of Creativity

There are six categories of creativity I know of, this will deal with how each new domain is being generated or discovered. I will explain them in order of rank.

• Primary Creativity

This is a simplest of it’s kind. It is a spontaneous creation. Sometimes this doesn’t needs skill set and expertise before you do this.

• Secondary Creativity

This is more deliberate and skill in the sense that it’s the application of ideas and insight to inventions.

• Technical Creativity

There are technicality in sees of creativity. In technical creativity the aim is to seek improvement in the process and apply it thereby increase or improve efficiency of such process. It can be equipment, process e.t.c.

• Inventive Creativity

Here as a creator, you are more likely making or devising new combinations of ingredients. When bringing in different ideas and you combine them to make one new process that's an inventive creativity. It's an advance of technical creativity. E.g. Invention of Generator Set and other technology. Most of this creations has two or more principle that guide there operation.

• Innovative Creativity

This involves for reaching applications of more basic ideas like management. You have a process or policy in place it’s the way you manage the process using your techniques and some other ideas you have that will develop much more effective system for motivating your staff.

• Emergentive Creativity

It consist of new revolutionary principles for art or science.

All the categories of the creativity shows are, the diversity in creating new domain from the existing one. As an individual you are either creating something knowingly or you are creativity something unknowingly but everyday creativity is ongoing.

Meanwhile there are processes that related to creativity and if duly follow its will generate good result at the end. The processes are Preparation, Incubation, Insight, Evaluation and Elaboration. In all these processes it is Elaboration that is the most difficult step of creativity endeavour because it requires great self discipline, dedication and perseverance.

There are another important factors that we need to look at when building yourself in area of creativity. This is Forces Against Creativity

Incase you don't know, there are forces against creativity. Let me show you and I know we will come to agreement.

• Resistance To Change

This is the number force against creativity. Many people force that work against them. Is the ability not to embrace change when it happen. They are use to doing a particular work in a manner that is customized and this individuals just opposed to any new idea or change.

• Restriction to Interaction

Many believe that they have arrived and unknowingly to them, a free and open environment provides an opportunity to grow. Such environment facilitates exchange of ideas and information to creative work.

• Lack of Initiative

At management level at work many manager refuse to release information from top to bottom. There fear is their subordinate may undermine their authority.

• Lack of recognition

Failure to recognise or reward creativity act as demotivating factor. Hard work put in by a creative person must be compensated with adequate financial and none financial reward.

Lastly,

• Fear of something going wrong

It’s possible many new ideas may go wrong or prove impractical. Until we are able to understand this fact whenever creative work is to be undertaken the possibility of success or failure is always there. We are the one to clear that force of failure and embrace success in what we do.

In summary, to be creative you need to activate a source that generate product and know how to use them. Seek for opportunity, ask question and use the solution provided to generate new domain or product.
