Incredible hand carved leatherwork by a fellow Steemian, @creationofcare

Long ago in a far away land called Burnaghetto, I made a bargain with a master of material a weaver of story, a  diviner of the soul. This work is the fruition of that bargain, a custom  Sam Browne belt with pouch and canteen for going to Rendezvous styled events. My side of the bargain is another story, this is her side, her mastery, her creation come to life.

A Sam Browne belt is primarily a way to carry weapons and gear, for a soldier in the field. This is also for that but with a theme based on early Britannic art, and a play on my name. Certain objects were supplied by me as listed with the photos. The Celtic themes are mainly about Sirius, The Dog Star, bringing about the Summer Solstice, and the dog days of summer when there could be a break in the work to revel in the warmth of the sun. I honor my celtic ancestors, and their art has influence in my life

The second theme has to do with the ravens Huginn and Muninn, Thought and Memory, the two ravens that attended the God Odin and were his "intellect", if you will. I honor my Norse (Clan Gunn of Orkney and Caithness) ancestors as their art also has influence in my life.

The Buckskin comes from "Local harvest free range organic Poodle(Err, Mule deer) harvested atop Palomar Mountain California, All other leather was provided by CreationOfCare. The Canteen is a Nalgene Oasis, only the best canteen in the world. Modern products for modern times...

Each of the interior pockets has a an item that fits in it, Knife, Tinder, Flint and steel, Powder and ball, patches, a tube of gun lube for the flintlock... And a Cell phone.

The Belt: I supplied the buckle, it is very old and dear to me.

The Sam Browne Belt

My weapon of choice, the flask was supplied by me, found in the trash pile of a gold mine in the Mother Lode region of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, California. 1/2 pint, Scott's Emulsion, Cod Liver oil in Soda with Lime. It's full of Irish whisky now 8)

In conclusion, this is a prized possession. the workmanship and pure Love Cat poured into this wearable art is amazing. She is a master of her many crafts and forms of art, but her leather carving is truly sublime.
