This is a nice upcycle project. The lace does give it a nice look. I like how you matched it with a piece on the pocket too.

Is there a reason you sewed by hand and then by machine also? Was that just a preference?

I’m a beginner sewer and like taking notes. Like I would have pinned the lace to the shorts and then sewn them by machine. It’s interesting learning the different methods others use.
