STUDENT WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAM (SWEP) Day 3 [03|09|2025]: Familiarization Tour

When I was in 200 level , I did the same course but in a different form. On our Familiarization Tour day, we were asked to go round different departmental laboratory and workshops. And gaining information on various activities that are carried out there.
We were not allowed to visit our own lab/ workshop. That was one of the rules in the instructions manual.
For example, if you're an Electrical and Electronics Engineering student like me, you'll not be allowed to your the Electrical lab and workshops. But you can tour other departments' lab and workshops.

It was fun then, we learnt a lot about other departments that day.

Now that we're in 300level, it's a different case.

The SWEP started on Monday, the 1st of September, which I was not able to attend because I was not around.
I got an information that the registration would last for three days, Then full work starts on the fourth day, That's Thursday.
I was able to make to to on Wednesday the third day.
This activity will go on for a month,and we're to document everything in our log book which we get after registering.

_{About Leaving the house}

I was supposed to be in school before 9am as agreed with my friends @sampson and @imohmitch. But it seemed as though the early morning rain was against us. It started like little drizzle and then heavy drops. I thought it was going to ' last for about an hour, but there was I , waiting since 8 am for the rain to stop, and this was already 9 : 57 am.
It was then my friend Sampson called and told me he was leaving for school despite the heavy rain. I decided to follow suit.

When I was about leaving,the rain stopped a bit. So, I ran out to board a motorcycle.
Luckily, I found one with an umbrella. During rainy seasons like this, those motorcycle riders would charge twice the usual amount, just because there's an umbrella.
Some persons might even prefer to walk out to where they'll find a mini-bus or taxi and get to thier destination.
But me, I can't stain my steeze this early morning na.😂😂
Lemme spend some steems😂.
I paid double as was requested. But omor, e pain me die😂.

_{On the road}

I boarded a taxi at the main road that took me to the junction where I'll get a bus straight to school. Surprisingly,the taxi driver charged normal price.

When I got to my school gate. University of Uyo, AkwaIbom State, Nigeria.
By that time, the rain had stooped completely, but there were still water running in gutters and on the floor too
I took a tricycle from the school gate inside, to my destination.
The good thing about transportation within the school premises is that anywhere you want to go within the school premises, it the same charge. 100 naira, no matter how short or long your destination. 100 naira is 0.5 steem.

So, I got to the venue for registration. It's called the Engineering Lecture Theater (ELT).

Immediately I passed through the entrance door, my coursemates hailed my name. I don't know how they find it funny. But i almost tripped 😂.
I just didn't mind them, I walked straight to the front the get my Log book . I signed and paid a sum of 2000 naira.
You do the maths, how much is that in steem😜😜.

_Registration

After buying, I checked around if I'll see @imohmitch and @sampson01. But they were not there yet. I had to go sit with my coursemates and gist for some time before Sampson finally arrived. I watched him register and left to find a sit, so I signaled him to come sit with us .

_{The logbook}

After some time, we were briefed by the coordinator that registration for the day will end by 12 noon. Then we will go for our Familiarization Tour.
We waited for it thought, because we were told that they'll be attendance list.

It was finally time, so we got to where the bus was parked to get in. That was when I saw @imohmitch.

We got into the bus, I found a suitable place to sit by the mirror, so I could take pictures.
We need e told that we'll be visiting our Town Campus at plaza. But can you believe those guys just took us round faculties snd facilities at permsite which we already know. And the three us out of the bus for other sets to go in😂😂😂?
What kind of English should I use to describe them now😂.

Anyways, we went to Faculty of Agric, Faculty of Law, NDDC hostel abd Faculty of physical and Biological science.
Basically, we just turned round the school in circles and went back to the parking spot.
We signed the attendance, the went back to ELT to wait for the coordinator to come brief us before leaving.
That was when a steemit user needed our help in order for him to record a video for the pusscoin anniversary contest.
I can't lie, the whole "Behind the scene scenario was funny"..
But it was a success though.

After that we went back inside the lecture theater. I got an information that the log books would be available the next day for people like @imohmitch @samuelbrilliant and @mr-peng who didn't come early to buy.

After the whole krikata, we went home.

Day 1 was mainly registration, day 2 registration and orientation, then day 3 was registration and Familiarization Tour.
