Black And Proud!
A wise woman once said and I quote “If am not for myself, who will be? If not now ,when? If not me, who?”
We need an undying love for ourselves! I mean generally but, this is specially for all people of color -black people wherever we may be!
Is time for us to stop running away from being black! Our lips are thick, our nose is broad and our hair is nappy, we are black and we are beautiful!!!
It’s time for us to truly embrace who we are, our originality, our uniqueness and how different we are!
As intellectuals, we must learn to define beauty for black people.
Am not just talking about our physical looks and how some of us are under the impression that changing our physical color and hair is the way to go but, we need to raise the standards high with good conscience, hardwork, self discipline and always standing out for the truth!
Enough of the norm, drugs, vices and violence! We must begin to take responsibility for our actions! Being black and proud involves taking responsibility that will earn us the respect we truly deserve!
This starts from self, it’s when you have self respect for yourself that is when it’ll reflect in your attitude!
Do this for yourself and for everything you are!

The more "Black and Proud" you become, the easier it is for me to be "Brown and Beautiful."
Sometimes we as cultures become divisive and feel like one set of people loving themselves means that they feel others are somehow less than. This is not truth, the "truth" is that the more you love yourself, the more you can love others.
