I treat the upvote as an indication to the author and readers that i think its a good post, not to earn SP from (although thats a nice bonus). Therefore, even if the post is past its sell by date, i still vote (albeit with a minimal percentage so as not to waste RC).
Did i articulate that well brother? :-)
