The thing about ignorance is that you don't even know when you are ignorant. Be careful of the things and people you so vehemently vilify, for in a few years you might have a paradigm shift.

As you bask in your new found knowledge in future, your actions toward people during your time of ignorance may have kept some in perpetual gloom. Their minds might have become irreparable.

While we must all be careful to stand for something and not be tossed about by every wind of opinion, we must also be careful to keep an open mind and to learn better ways of doing things.

The way you were born into, the beliefs you grew up to know may not be all that the world is about. We must not hold on to an idea simply because we were born into it, rather because we have learned for ourselves and we know it's the way to go.

Would we always be right? No.
But at least we would have chosen the way to go of our own freewill, and this way we'll always take responsibility for our behavior and actions rather than blame our ancestors.
