REPOST : Creative Confidence - Discover yourself again

We have a lot of ideas in our brain somewhere but not everybody is able to pick it up and put it to action. Having creative ideas doesn’t matter if you can’t put it to action to improve your and others life. So how is it related to Creative Confidence? Creative confidence is the ability of a person to have creative ideas and enough courage to give life to its idea.

Why does it happen?  This may be due to the fear of losing, fear of going bankrupt and most of all fear of being judged as said by Tom Kelly. These fears starts building from childhood when someone excuse you of doing the work or project on your idea. This fear of being excused develop its roots in our brain. With time, the feeling to have creative idea starts diminishing and roots getting more deeper. Even having confidence, you don’t have creative confidence

Psychological study reveals that Generally, a young person has much more creative ideas than a older person. It may be because the older person may have experienced this fear for longer time.

Every company want its employees to be creative to give a economic and technological boost to the company. It is well said that a smart person always hires a smarter person to give life to its idea. There is a very great example of it that you all know and use it tons of times in a day i.e Facebook. Facebook was developed by a few smart and creatively confident people. They just gave it a try and rest is history. Now Facebook’s market value is 245 Billion Dollars which is like tons of times than they initially invested in the Facebook project. Now they hire only creative people :)

How do we increase Creative Confidence? Many people seek answers to question like this. You will find no tutorial to increase it because its not created but rediscovered. If you ever thought of your childhood in terms of creativeness and courageousness you will realise that you played much more risky game in your childhood than your present. You had much lower fear of being judged and ability to take more risks. With time, it starts building up until our creative mind is completely blocked by these fears. That’s why we generally say “My childhood was awesome!!!”.  

What we can do to help? If you are a father just don’t excuse your child to stop doing messy and unconventional things. This is because if you stop or excuse him/her, you are putting a lifetime stop to its creativity and full potential of its amazing and precious brain. In fact you can help and motivate your child’s idea to let him/her feel that your father is always there for them.
