RE: New Bike Trail, with Crappy Camera

Some of those shots do look like something straight out of Night of the Living Dead or some other zombie movie. Eerie and deserted, though I'm sure in reality it was a nice spot to ride. We've got a few nice trails I like to run on around here that give you that feel of being far away despite actually being quite close to the city. Nice to get a little nature break on occasion. :)

It really is one of the best effects that I can create with this camera. I'm slowly falling in love with it.

During this ride I came across the "River Towns Fall Festival" on Oct 5, which includes a bike ride of either 20, 32, 40, or 64 miles. I signed myself up for it. Now I need to start some heavy training.

Oh cool! That will be fun to join in on! Which distance will you do?

I'm not sure yet! I ride 10 miles at lunch, so I'm pretty confident that I could do the 20 without much issue at all. I think I want to aim for the moon and do the entire 64, because no one ever accomplished much by aiming for mediocrity. An average pace, without pushing myself is 14 miles/hour. The question is if I can keep that up for 4.5 - 5 hours. It's a goal to reach for, anyway!

That's the spirit! Shoot for the moon! :)
