Simple Hemp Necklace-Howto

You will need: approx 2 yards hemp twine for center strings, approx 6.5/7 yards of work Hemp twine. A pendant. A bead or button that will work for your clasp, and scissors and glue.
Step one: Fold both your working and center strings in half to make a loop at the top. Then tie a knot, leaving a loop at the top with enough room to fit you clasp bead through, as shown. step2: lay your working string so there is one on each side of the center. take you right working string, loop to over the center strings. take your left working string over your right sting, and then under your center strings. Bring it through your loop on the right you originally made. step 3: pull tight to finish your first knot. You will repeat this same knot until you put your pendant in. After a few knots you will see a spiral pattern starting. You want to keep your knots an even tightness, which ultimately happens once you get some practice in but it took me a while to master it. step 4: now we put our pendant on, I usually leave one string on the outside to ensure the pendant doesn’t move. step 4: now we will do the same not but the opposite direction. Take your left working string over the centers string to make a loop. Then take it your right working string over and under the left working string, bring it under centers and through your loop. Pull tight. Repeat this knot until you are ready for your clasp bead. step 5: ready for bead clasp. Once you have your desired length, put your bead one and tie the same knot in step one. Once you have you nice tight end knot, I put a little dab of glue just to secure it. Trim your extra string and let your glue dry. step 6: your all done!
