Louisiana is about to face a double disaster.

Louisiana's current Covid situation is disastrous and to make matters worse Hurricane Ida may make landfall as a Category 5 storm.

The state has 2,684 Covid hospitalizations. 479 on ventilators. ICU capacity utilization is 90%.

Hospitalizations are nearly 50% more than the previous pandemic all-time high.

According to the latest data for the state for the week of August 18th, 90% of cases, 81% of deaths, and 91% of hospitalizations are not fully vaccinated.

I really feel for the healthcare professionals having to deal with two crises simultaneously.

Sitting in the dark at night with no phones, no refrigeration, no coffee, no AC, no ability to open windows in a water logged world breeding billions of insects, no ability to know what is going on for days on end and NO GAS to go anywhere…

It couldn't be any worse.
