Greta the Great Activist-Actor

in #covid3 years ago

An estimated 1.5 billion masks have littered the ocean in 2020. This is just a conservative estimate; according to the BBC, every month, 129 billion face masks and 65 billion plastic gloves enter the ocean. Global sales of face masks increased in 2020 to $166 billion from a previous $800 million in 2019. Houshold cleaner sales are of course also up since 2020, as you've probably noticed.

Greta Thunberg weighs in to loosely associate the pandemic with climate change, saying that we depend on science, listen to the climate-change scientists, and that Joe Biden for President "could be a good start of something new. Let’s hope that it is like that, and let’s push for it to become like that". However, she fails to address the very issue that you'd think she'd be the poster child for: disposable masks in landfills and oceans.

What is she doing instead? In 2020, Greta still enjoys her freedom of speech, travel and assembly while she travels around the world to attend climate-change "protests", but of course wearing a facemask and socially distanced from others the articles always make sure to note.

This year she pandered to Chancellor Angela Merkel, demanding more global fascism...and don't forget - it's more important now that COVID has stolen the spotlight. She demands more of the kind of tyranny that the pandemic brought us (coincidence?!), while she enjoys a lockdown-free country.

Why is this activist-actor not raising awareness about the increased and unnecessary waste exacerbated by the unreasonable mandates of the government to whom she advocates, and its tentacles which set social precedence? Climate change and the pandemic are related, but not in any way that these actors will tell you; it's about getting you on the smart grid!
