The US reported more than 71,000 new cases today -- the highest jump so far

Since January, health authorities have identified more than 3 million Covid-19 cases throughout the United States.
New York has reported the most cases (404,775) so far and 32,446 deaths. When adjusted for population, that translates to roughly 2,081 known cases and 167 deaths for every 100,000 residents.
