If people admit that covid is a problem, then they will feel an obligation to do something about it. Thus, covid isn't a problem.

It is stories like this that I hope hammer home the need to get vaccinated. While we can speak in generalities about the virus' age risk profile frankly no one can say ahead of time how a SARS-COV-2 infection will go. In addition so many of the risk factors for severe COVID are risk factors that many people are unaware they have. Don't fall victim to hubris.
I don't think this teen expected he'd go from scoring two touchdowns in the highschool season opener to being put on a ventilator in the intensive care unit a couple weeks later for COVID-19. This 18 year old had no known underlying conditions and had never been hospitalized. But he was unvaccinated.
Learning unfortunately a lot of Americans still view disease as a personal failing.
The comorbidities talking point is especially dumb as half the people saying it probably don't remember the last time they got a cholesterol/glucose test or an annual physical.
Please get vaccinated. The vaccines are safe and effective for all eligible ages.
