There was something special about mp3 . com, as artists, and that thing was that we had the chance to connect with people who had like minds and like souls, and like musical hearts. You were very much a part of that for me, as was Serena. I have been fortunate to have remained friends and in contact with Serena for all of these years...and I am equally as fortunate to be reconnecting with you and your wonderful talent and wonderful heart here in this new online world.

I love this version of Serena's song because it shows that you truly do get it. What Serena brings to the table (beyond a simply mind blowing talent in the art of self expression and storytelling) is her ability to touch something...the sky, the moon, a feeling, a song...and make it more beautiful than it was before. That's what you get about her, and your take on her song is more than just your version. It's an extension of the love that Serena touches her songs with. You can do that because you have that inside of you, too.

And so, it's a double blessing for me. The spirits of two of my favorite people on the planet for nearly two decades coming together in the only way that it could work...with love. You both have the same light inside of you, which makes the shine of this so incredibly bright. The real winner in this? It's me. Because two people who I admire so greatly and who I feel so much admiration and affection for have combined to make a spark that shines brighter in my life than either of you know.
