Egypt

Egypt is a bridge between North-East Africa and the Middle East and its history goes back to the time of the pharaohs. Millennial monuments line the banks of the fertile Nile Valley, including the Sphinx and the gigantic pyramids of Giza. The city of Luxor is home to the Karnak Temple and its hieroglyphics, as well as the tombs of the Valley of Kings. Cairo, the capital, is full of Ottoman sites, such as the Mohammed Ali Mosque or the Egyptian Museum and its treasures of antiquities.
