COTI’s payment system is built to solve the payment challenges of today and provides users with a greater peace of mind. The creation and success of COTI is dependant on the currency’s ability to accomplish the objectives set forth by the COTI team.COTI set 11 objectives for the token to meet in order for it to be the fastest, easiest, and effective payment currency. The COTI token is built on a foundation referred to as the trust scoring engine. Unfortunately a key source of friction today pertains to the lack of reliable metrics pertaining to the trustworthiness of buyers and sellers.COTI is taking a novel approach in building trust between transacting parties through its Trust Scoring Engine, which analyses network interactions over time to generate a trust score for each participant in the COTI network. The Trust Scoring Engine consideres many parameters when calculating trust scores, this is no different than Google when they use parameters to generate rankings on their webpages. Trust scores are relative values placed on a scale of 0 to 1 with 1 being the highest score possible.
COTI is also implementing hedging services, to help counteract the volatility that is preventing merchant acceptance. At the time of a transaction COTI will put in place instant settlements so merchants will be able to reduce, or eliminate their exposure to currency fluctuations. Initially these hedging services will be limited to only a 30-day period, and will cover payments made with COTI’s native currency (XCT). Lastly, one of the pillars that COTI has put in place for their network’s success is the extent to which they can attract and retain sufficient volume of capable mediators to address the volume of disputes occurring in the network at any given times. COTI is developing a separate application to accommodate mediator use cases. These mediators require tools to facilitate their contributions to the dispute resolution process. The mediator client will largely resemble the consumer wallet, but will offer enhanced functionality that enables mediators to serve their roles effectively.
