Travelling to Costa Rica -- Day 5
29 de Marzo
Playa Grande, Guanacaste, Costa Rica → Houston, Texas, USA→ San Diego, California, USA
Today our trip in Costa Rica came to an end. Before we needed to depart the house for the airport, we wanted to see some final sights in the country. After failing to kayak two days ago, we attempted again. This time we walked to Los Malinches first as we learned our lesson last time. However, the person working there told us that they do not rent kayaks, how this is possible I do not know, especially since the day before we were told they did. One of the workers did not know what they were talking about. Since ten O’clock when we needed to depart was approaching quickly, we rapidly adjusted to traveling to Tamarindo for a breakfast meal. The water level was much lower than desirable, so the taxi boat took around forty five minutes to arrive; it normally takes fifteen. Time was not on our side. As we began to ride the boat to Tamarindo, we ran aground on a sandbank. We were forced to exit the boat and push it for a couple of meters. The trip to the Tamarindo consumed so much time that the moment we arrived, we were forced to return. We decided to travel along the beach and explore the shells of the beach. The snails here are so cool. They have long spiral shells and squiggle along the beach, leaving trails in mysterious webs, and when they are done above land, they burrow themselves into the sand.
With the extra time back in town we were able to eat breakfast at La Catamaran and like always I ordered el tipico. I needed some good Costa Rican food before my departure. It was really enjoyable to stay in this complex at Jim’s Beach House. Costa Rica is a country filled with joy and amazement. The pride of the country is the kindness of the citizens and open hearts.
As we drove to the airport, we glimpsed our last view of the country. We saw the green forests and relaxed cities. Farewell until next time Costa Rica.
