GekeVenn: THERANOS (and a bonus connection to ENRON)
The Connected Company: Theranos
Theranos is the maker of blood testing technology that promised direct-to-consumer testing with much smaller amounts of blood than conventional testing required. Elizabeth Holmes founded this startup worth billions at one point. Theranos technology reportedly doesn't work as advertised and the company has imploded. There are several lawsuits pending against the company, and Holmes was recently banned by the government from owning or operating a laboratory for at least two years.
What piqued our interest in Theranos was its incestuous relationship with government. In addition to the normal revolving-door staffers and lobbyists, three prominent former government officials sit on the Theranos board: Henry Kissinger, former U.S. Secretary of State, George Shultz, former U.S. Secretary of State and Secretary of Labor, and Sam Nunn, former United States Senator (D).
Elizabeth Holmes has been part of the world of government connections and revolving doors from birth. Her father, Christian Holmes IV was a revolving-door staffer himself, working at Enron, as well as for government agencies including the United States Agency for International Development. We include the Enron GekeVenn below, which includes her father. Elizabeth's mother, Noel Anne Holmes, was a congressional committee staffer.
It's a shame we've let it get to this.
Recently we had a need for a lobbyist, now days they openly speak about needing funding for campaign contributions and nice vacations for lawmakers. Even when they know they are being video reordered.
I did hear through the grapevine that there could well be some repercussions coming for some soon though... Let's hope and keep exposing them...

Thanks @majes! The funny thing is, all this information is out there. Anyone can find it. But when people see it, they don't realize how corrupt it is. Most of these people proudly list their former government responsibilities on their corporate bios, or their former corporate duties on their governmental bios. And most people don't bat an eye because they don't realize the extent to which government agencies, that regulate corporations, are staffed by those very corporations.
