Facebook is in the news today for being "used" by Cambridge Analytica and "exploited" by the Trump campaign. Apparently, collecting and using data provided by Facebook users through their activities and likes on the platform is only allowable when Facebook, itself, is profiting.

But in light of this indignity Facebook has suffered, it's probably time to see how much and what types of influence the company is purchasing on Capitol Hill, having spent $11.5 million on lobbying in 2017.
