GekeVenn: ELI LILLY
Fifteen years ago, the revolving door between Eli Lilly and the government was fairly powerful. According to Sharyl Attkisson of CBS News, “Lobbyist John McManus worked for Eli Lilly, [then] became a House staffer where he was 'chief staff architect' of Medicare Part D.”
But gone are the days when Eli Lilly had such influence in the federal government. For one thing, the company currently has no revolving door employees in the FDA, which may be why its rheumatoid arthritis drug was denied approval last spring in what was reported at the time as a surprise as the drug seemed safer than a similar one put forward by Pfizer.
