Impact of the corona virus on air quality in China
In a latest memo of Royal Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy, Corona virus outbreak seams to have positive impact to worldwide pollution.
The impact on air quality is clearly perceptible from space. The levels of NO2 air pollution above major cities in China have decreased by 30 to 50% compared to a comparable period last year.
The impact of the corona virus on tropospheric NO2 emissions is visible throughout China. The average levels were more than 30% lower than the same period in 2019.
