How does the "economy" continue to function with everyone at home?

I am curious if anyone has seen any forecasts as to what will transpire when the effect of this closure of the economy in many sectors.

Notwithstanding the immediate impact on the gig economy, and the many millions of people who were already struggling to make ends meet, what happens when reserve funds are depleted for the thousands of other people, especially in the services industries.

What happens when restaurants that leveraged in their finances can no longer remain open...and their employees?

This is a strange reality into which we are being thrust. I wonder if anyone has any reasonable estimations of our future.
