Eyestrain is understandable; I get it too. Just post when you can. It's always good to hear your perspective.
People are always trying to engineer things, for various reasons. They are trying to engineer the economy to distribute scarce resources as well as possible. They try to engineer nature to keep people safe and fed as well as possible. I think there is an overall upward trend if you chart progress over hundreds or thousands of years. But of course progress has periodic setbacks and we may be facing one now. Hopefully its a short downturn in an overall journey towards a better future.
Thank you kenny. I tend to forget my age and that there are consequences for overdoing things. I've told myself I must stop work when I start to get closer and closer to peer at the screen . Sylvia had age related macular syndrome in her later years, which is a fear for me,I include spinach & kale in my diet to help keep that at bay.
I agree that our governments have the best intentions.Of the systems I think ours are the'least worst'. It seems to me though that the pressure on political party's to stay in power, from the younger generations who've not known bad times, is so great that they will not take the corrective action when needed.
As someone brought up that you can't spend what you haven't earned - yes,you can borrow against future earnings, as I did of course, but it has to have a credible business plan & be backed by assets.
I am baffled by government financial accounting.Where does all the money come from? Yes, printing it,but too much money chasing too few goods led to hyper inflation - we haven't got that?.Borrowing fron countries in surplus - China. Russia.other oil rich countries. But don't they want it back? Of course they want surpluses to be out earning!
It's a puzzlement.Think I'd better stick to Ludo.
