Think Of Your Product

Have you ever wonder why your customer buy your product? What is the main reason why they want to buy a product from your business? You need to identify the specific target market and their problem. In addition to understanding that your product can help them to solve their problem too. If your target market is always general, common or unspecific in a long run you will lose direction of what to build or create your next product. On the other hand, your target market will also lose the interest of your product too.

To create a powerful copywriting, first, you must do a research on a specific target market such as create a case study on the specific target market to understand what their needs are, wants and desire.

A case study such as Amazon.com, Alibaba.com, and other large companies looks like their target market is too general. The truth is they do not look like what you think they are. If you browse through a specific product on their website, by any click you made, they will capture your information and will add to their database for an analysis over a specific time. The next time when you visit the same website, you will find a familiar or similar product which browses last time appear on the front page of the website. The more a customer clicks and spends time on a similar product, the more likely they will buy such product now or in the near future. Such behavior analysis behind the website algorithm is to attract the customer to buy more on based on their interest product.

A large company knows what they are doing. They may target an overall general audience with their wide variety of product. However, they customize and ensure their specific marketing for each individual who visits their website. They will the product the customer is looking for and capture the specific record to show them next time they visit the website too. In addition, some may attract the customer more by giving them a discount or complimentary items on their next visits. As you can see, they are doing a specific marketing for each customer who visits them.

In a nutshell, it does not matter whether your business is large or not. What matter is whether you can get as specific as you can for your target market.

Exercise

It is meaningless reading all these without practice. Here is what you can do to identify your typical customer. You may create a specific form or survey to write down the demographics, characteristics, the difficult when you engage a customer and what did you do right to convert them from target market and become your customer.
