ISP subpoenas and movie lawsuits will not be the focus this channel. Hello world!

in #copyright7 years ago

Hello to the Steemit community! Much of what I've written over the past seven years on the TorrentLawyer website (https://www.torrentlawyer.com) has gotten lost in the way Wordpress lists articles and content.

Privacy and VPN technology (and how people get caught and sued for copyright infringement) has not changed much in the last seven years. It is frustrating as an attorney to see the same faulty mousetrap catch one internet user after another after another... It's a faulty mousetrap!

In my Cashman Law Firm, PLLC law practice (https://www.cashmanlawfirm.com), I defend internet users who are caught downloading movies, films, and music using bittorrent. Some of my practice is NSFW as far as the titles of what people downloaded, but for the most part, it does not matter whether someone downloaded The Hitman's Bodyguard or an adult Strike Three Holdings video -- the attorneys representing the movie producers are still suing for copyright infringement in John Doe ISP subpoena-based lawsuits.

The purpose of this Steemit channel will be to take articles "offline," meaning, to share important hints and tips on how people get caught downloading movies and videos, and how to handle an ISP subpoena in a John Doe lawsuit.

I also have an inkling that I will be treating this Steemit channel as a way of sharing my personal hobbies, which include privacy and encryption, network security (infosec), and other topics such as cryptocurrencies, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and my own thoughts on solutions to society's problems which will come from (or will result as a reaction to) each of these topics.

So stay tuned -- hopefully this will be an interesting project.
