Arrested for recording, jump out boys of the 71st precinct

On Thursday May 3rd, 2018, NYPD “jump out boys” arrested a man for recording their actions against another man, and refusing to show his ID upon demand. The “jump out boys” are undercover cops who ride around in unmarked vehicles, usually in groups of 3 or 4. They are known to roll up on groups of (usually) Black people and jump out of the car to surprise their victims. Often, they do this with little to no reason, just to see if someone will run from them. (thus giving them probable cause to seize them and search them for illegal items)

On this occasion, they were investigating a man with a speaker, suspected of being a busker (also known as a performance artist) without a permit, even though the speaker was not on, and he was not performing at that time. This took place in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn in New York City at the corner of Hawthorne St. and Nostrand Ave.

This video was recorded by Erica Caine, who is a local Hip Hop Artist and songwriter at HOODSTREETZ RECORDS. Apparantly another man did the same thing, and caught the attention of one of the jump out boys, who then attacked the man, pushing him back and then demanding to see his ID. ( a common intimidation tactic used by police) When the man did not immedialy bow to this man's Ah-thor-a-tay, he placed him in handcuffs and stuffed him into the back ot a police car.

Erica immediately noticed that this cop was very jumpy, skittish, and not acting right. Living in New York, and being in the Hip Hop industry, Erica has undoubtably seen some people who choose to recreate from time to time with cocaine, and recognized the symtoms of it's use in this cop. She proceeds to call him out on his apparent hypocrisy, (as these cops would arrest you or me for doing the same thing) and stating that this cop needed to “pee in a cup”, which means, to take a drug test. She then proceeds to demand this cops badge number while the cop simply ignores this request from his employer. (ie us the public) Eventually, he shoves his badge in her face and proclaims, “here's my badge number” The only problem was, there did not appear to be a number on his badge. You can see that the other cop's badges have large numbers on them, but if this cop's badge had any numbers, they must have been quite small.

When Erica complains to the other officers at the scene, she is dismissed, and instead, they start to push all spectators way back, and ordered them to leave the area. This way, they can continue their illegal detentions and arrests with no accountability from the public. One of the officers does tell Erica that the jump out boys are from the 71st precinct, but that is all the information they were willing to give.

I NEED THIS TO GO VIRAL! THIS 71ST PRECINCT OFFICERS...PAY ATTENTION TO THE ONE IN THE BLUE T SHIRT...HE JUMPED OUT THE CAR AND ASKED A MAN FOR I.D. FOR NO REASON...THEN WE STARTED RECORDING AND THE GUY YOU SEE THEM PUTTING IN HANDCUFFS DIDN'T DO ANYTHING BUT RECORD THEM WITH HIS PHONE.
