I absolutely loved creating this "Chocolate Coffee Mousse - Dianadee-Style" for Cook with Us #11.

Thanks to @cookwithus for this opportunity to take part with other amazing contestants!:) Also to the extra people who help to judge and organise the contest..appreciate your input!

I used my cheese slicer to shave down the white chocolate, to give it more of a larger flaked appeal for the decoration.

The cream like topping is actually a little of the ideal milk, frozen ..took a little out before mixing it in the chocolate mixture etc.

By the way the large serving bowl is actually, crystal, given to us for a wedding present, many moons ago! I really love chocolate desserts as they are popular with most people..unless you are on a diet, of course!

This goes well in a buffet style lunch.

Easy to make, the day before too..for some special friends, or birthday celebration. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if you wish!

I added some cinnamon for a more exotic overall taste too and a little extra coffee. The blended ingredients melt together and do not jar the senses.

Try this recipe..you will not be disappointed.

Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients

1 large tin evaporated milk (chilled)
1 tablespoon gelatine
3/4 cup white sugar
4 dessert spoons cocoa
3 teaspoons instant coffee
half teaspoon cinnamon powder
pinch salt
Slab of milky bar chocolate / for grating or curling.
I teaspoon vanilla essence

Method

  1. Dissolve the gelatin about 1/2 cup boiling water and mix with sugar, cocoa, cinnamon,salt and coffee. Make sure you use boiling water to mix gelatin to dissolve otherwise you might get hard lumps at the bottom of your dessert!
  2. Beat chilled milk until frothy and add to other ingredients. Fold together well. Pour into ornamental glass serving bowl
  3. Allow to set and decorate as you please.

What a decadent dish @dianadee! Chocolate and coffee are an amazing pairing and the addition of some cinnamon makes this mousse even better.
