Fields of Wild Leeks

It is leek season here in my home town. They are usually the first vegetation to poke it's head from the snow. Robin does most of the cooking in our house and uses them in soups, raw in salads, as a topping for pizza, in mashed potatoes, stews, and most of her stir fry dishes. They have a taste between an onion and garlic. I have been told that wild leeks are sold in farmer markets for $40.00 a pound.
