COOKING 101 : "TINOLANG TAHONG" - A FILIPINO DISH AND FOR SEAFOOD LOVERS

The Philippines is a country rich with water resources like seafood because it is an archipelago surrounded by water.
In the Philippines, there were many kinds of seafood and one of them is shellfish.
Mussels (Tahong in Filipino) grow abundantly and maybe that is the reason why they are sold cheaply.
Mussels usually inhabit in fresh waters like the lakes, ponds, and rivers.
It is usually found in saltwater and freshwater habitats.
Tinolang Tahong is a mussel soup recipe with ginger and pechay. This mussel soup recipe is simple, very affordable yet nutritious and delicious. This is easy and quick to prepare.
"TINOLANG TAHONG RECIPE"
INGREDIENT:
1 lb. mussels (tahong), cleaned
pechay
2 tablespoons ginger
1 medium onion, sliced
5 cloves garlic, sliced
½ teaspoons salt
3 cups water
2 teaspoons fish sauce
2 tablespoons cooking oil
WAY OF COOKING
Heat a cooking pot and pour-in cooking oil.
Saute garlic and onion.
Add ginger and mussels, and then cook for a minute.
Pour-in water. let boil.
Add fish sauce and green chili. Stir and cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
Add pechay and salt to taste and let it boil.
Serve and enjoy eating with your family.
