How to Make the Best Prime Ribs
If Prime Rib is what you plan to make for Christmas dinner then follow this simple technique and you will have the perfect pinkish piece of meat without doing too much work. I would advise that you buy meat with bones attached. Ok, let's get started here, let say for simplicity that you got yourself a 10-pound piece of meat. First thing you want to do is the take it out of the refrigerator and leave it at room temperature for at least an hour or so. Next step is to pierce some holes in the meat and stuff as much garlic gloves as you desire. Then melt a stick of butter, mix it with your prime rib seasoning of your choice usually it is Kosher salt, pepper, rosemary, thyme, garlic powder. It should look something like this
Then what you would like to do next is to preheat your oven to 500-degree Fahrenheit. Using mathematics to cook takes the guesswork out so you will have more time to prepare your side dishes. So in our example, we have ourselves a 10 pounder, the secret is to cook 5 minutes per pound. In our cases, you would have to set your timer for 50 minutes. After 50 minutes of cooking, turn off your oven but DO NOT, I mean DO NOT open the oven and let the meat rest INSIDE the oven for two hours. After the two hours passed take it out of the oven and your prime rib should look like this every single time
Use the drippings to make your au-jus sauce. Just add some flour and beef stock and cook it for 5-10 minutes or so and salt for taste and there you have it. The perfect prime ribs with little work !!! If I made add, the picture above is of low quality because I had to zoom in on it. It looks so much better outside. Give it a try and you will be the talk of the party!!
