Cooking in 7 pictures: Swiss duplex cake

Cooking in 7 pictures: Swiss duplex cake. Things to buy: one package Swiss rolls, one cream cheese 8oz, one cup powder sugar, butter half a stick, one chocolate pudding mix, 16 oz of milk, duplex or Oreo cookies small bag or box. Tools you will use: medium cake pan, two small glass bowls, whisk, large spoon, measuring cup, sandwich baggy. Total time spent: ~20 with setup, cleanup, and a toddler at my heels. Serves 8-12 depends on portion size. Level of skill: my 8-10 yr olds help with this dessert. You can do it if you can open wrappers and use a spoon properly :)

picture 1 you are laying on the beach and... I am just playing. That I would throw a corny joke in given the post is about food and corny joke! Get it. Haha. So you spread the Swiss rolls taken out of the package with your hands until they form a bottom crust.

this are the ingredients and start time. Husbands not working right now so don't judge the cheap products. It does taste better if you can afford quality ingredients.

ten minutes later I have my chocolate pudding made by whisking in the 2 cups of milk. I have my cream cheese filling made by stirring room temperature butter with the cream cheese and one cup powder sugar. The cookies are sealed tightly in a ziploc baggy that allowed me to crush them into oblivion with my bare hands!

you got all the stuff now and a great foundation for you Swiss duplex to be built upon so start with the cheese mix and plop two big spoonful on top then spread to thin layer.
image
next sprinkle half the bag of cookies along the top of the cheese mix, be pretty even with distribution.

now for the puddin' and yes it will mix and blend with the other layers a little. This is okay, they like to mingle.

And ten minutes later you are done;however this is after you do one more layer of cheese, cookies, and pudding. Then sprinkle the few left over cookies you saved for yourself on top to make it all fancied up looking. Please put the dessert in the fridge for a hour or so before eating and discard any leftovers after three days. My thoughts behind this post is Hey Valentine's Day is coming up, this is a simple dessert that guys or gals with no skills can prepare for their partner. It would be super cute with red little Debbie's on the bottom, pink colored vanilla pudding, strawberry Oreos, and those silly candy hearts we all secretly love. That would be your best bet to impress the ladies! Good luck and let me know if you liked this post or if it was too Pinteresty for you taste. :) beautiful day everyone! Kristy1
