How to make peanut butter?
Now who doesn’t like the salty and crunchy flavor of peanut butter? Whether it’s a light breakfast you want to grab while you’re heading out for work or a nice little snack with your evening tea, Peanut butter is always there for you offering its divine services. Especially loved by kids it’s a snack enjoyed by every age and savored by everyone. Now that we have established how loved a snack it is let us discuss a few methods of making peanut butter at home. Now you could get it in a bottle from the nearest superstore but the special flavor that you can add in your home and ensure the home controlled quality is something that only your own hands can add. So here’s a step by step guide at the end of which you’ll have some scrumptious peanut butter at hand to have.
If you didn’t know already then let us tell you. Yes, it can be made at home and yes, it is very simple to make and ridiculously easy.
First of all you need to get these item on the list as your ingredients and your armory.
• Peanuts ( 2 cups )
• 1 ½ tbsp. of peanut oil or vegetable oil (this is optional)
• ½ tbsp. sugar (depending on your taste)
• 1 ½ tbsp. molasses, brown sugar or honey. (as per taste)
• Pinch of salt
These ingredients are enough to fill a jar of 350 ml of peanut butter for you. Now let’s get on to the steps to follow.
First of all we ready the peanuts for the peanut butter. We don’t want our peanuts dirty so we start by thoroughly rinsing them under water. Of course we peel off the skin on the peanuts and after this we have got clean shiny peanuts without skin. It’s better to pat them dry before taking it to the next step.
The second step is optional but if you ask me for my personal opinion I’d say go for it. The roasting adds a specific crisp to the peanuts and a crunchy flavor too which is totally worth the little extra effort and time. Place the peanuts in a bowl and add vegetable oil that you had. Toss the peanuts so each of the peanuts gets fairly moist. Now spread the peanuts on a baking plate or a pan. It is necessary to spread them instead of placing in a bowl so they are fairly cooked. Heat in the oven for 10 minutes.
The next step is introducing the peanuts to a food processor. Put them in the grinder and wait till they are finely grounded. For best results do so while they are still warm. Keep processing the peanuts further for about 1 minute now. You might be tempted to take out the peanut butter in about 2 3 minutes but take my word for it and keep going for a further 2 to 3 minutes. It’ll finally begin to look creamier and creamier. This is your que now.
The paste is ready for now. Let us warn you that the texture might not be as fine as the one that you got from the departmental store but it is definitely tastier. Next step is more about getting the flavor and taste rather than the paste as the paste is as ready as it ever will be. Now you add sugar and salt to your paste. Taste it to check if the amount is enough or not. Add according to your own taste.
You can add brown sugar or honey too for a healthier peanut butter bite. This too is depending on your taste. Now that you have added the taste makers mix it thoroughly so that the taste gets uniform.
Jar you peanut butter in an airtight container. Have a yummy bite.
I love peanut butter and hope to try this.
