RE: A Weekend at Contests

  • Thanks to everyone who continues to participate in SteemCoinPan community.
  • From Oct 15, 2019, we will provide SCT rewards for postings published on SteemCoinPan.
  • You won't get SCT rewards at all if you create a posting on other Steem Dapps after Oct 15, 2019.

Ok, I hope this doesn't catch on with other communities/tribes.

You should NOT limit which interface is allowed to be used in order to be rewarded.

Or - you should allow SteemPeak at least, since they have tribe and feed sorting features activated for all the tribes, not limiting at all and allowing us to completely customise our feeds and sort which tribes we'd like to see and when...

https://www.steemcoinpan.com/ is just another ugly steemit.com clone - just like many of the other tribe front-ends.

I would hate to lose the ability to be rewarded just because I refuse to use an ugly and feature limited front-end.

For me SteemPeak is #1 by a long shot and I love that I can be a part of multiple communities, all from the one UI that I know and love, just by using their tag and sorting my feed/creating lists and favourites. Really, the possibilities with SteemPeak are endless.

It should be about the community and proper use of tagging, NOT about the interface we use!!

More interfaces are likely to go this direction, so that they can control their own advertising revenue from the traffic. As long as they are using their advertising revenue to benefit their members, it would help the value of the tokens (and drive more traffic to their platform). If they are using their advertising revenue to enrich themselves, the move will likely destroy their communities.

Either way, we will stop using SCT tags from Oct 15 but we will continue with staked SCT as long as there is an active contingent of SCT users among SBI members.

Does running your own frontend take a lot of resources? Domain registration and perhaps a small cloud server for hosting the files, but are they also running their own database? They would just be mirroring/using a public node I imagine to pull and show the data from the blockchain that's tagged with their tribe/dApp, in most cases? Talking about a clone of the steemit condenser.. dApps like steem-bounty/steem-hunt, actifit etc are probably also running a database I imagine.. but generally, the tribes don't seem to be running anything 'special', right? Just wondering!

Most of the front-ends use steemit API instead of running their own nodes.

I love Basic Income concept... thanks for what you are doing, guys!
