The Joys of Creamy Milk
Oh, the joys of creamy milk
The stomach turning cramps
Reminiscent of the fitness ilk
The gurgitating bacterial scamps
Lactose intolerant bloating gas
Abdominal flip-flop champs
Their boring excrement frass
Stomach-turning knots
Oh, why did I drink the glass?
To mom milk ranked with shots
I just wish she knew my angst
And instead led dairy-cow boycotts.
(Disclosure: This took a bit longer than 5-minutes. More like 20. It's hard to think up a suitable word to rhyme with milk)

Ugh, I'm lactose intolerant too. It sucks. I've finally gotten to a point where I've just accepted that I can't eat stuff I really like. Even with lactaid, it's a toss-up. When I was just in Finland, I noticed that they take the lactose (or offer lactose-free alternatives) to just about everything with dairy in it. Why don't we do that!? Most people are lactose intolerant by the time they're in their 30s, and it's relatively easy to just take it out! I wonder if most people who are lactose intolerant just think they have stomach aches for no reason whatsoever?
Also: #freewritepoetrydigest... I see what you did there.
we are asking the poets to tag with that so we can find them for the digest :)
I'm now eating more like a vegetarian because of my blood. I found a book that lists out the beneficial foods and the foods to avoid. Everytime I eat red meat I feel terrible. Milk too. And I'm losing some weight too. Anyway, it turns out I'm supposed to eat more fruits, vegetables, and fish. I feel a lot better. The book is by Dr. Peter D'Adamo.
Is it the blood type diet? You are A?
A- Yes, the blood-type diet. My Dr has been trying to get me to eliminate most of the stuff on the bad list. I’ve finally decided I want to feel better.
this whole post is wonderful. Love the selfie and I would so hate to not be able to drink milk!
Ha ha, that one hit a little too close to home! Be right back... 😦
Great job using the prompt and rhyming the word milk.
Ilk was the only word I could think of. Actually, stomach cramps, milk, and fitness ilk got me started. ;-)
