I was once quite the crypto savant, day trading my way to glory and profit. However, when on the go, I was severely handicapped. The crypto exchanges I used had mobile apps that are clunky at best, broken at worst. I don’t want to name any exchanges but the one I used frequently at the time had an update prompt every time I opened the app, even when the app was up-to-date. Alttex is programmed with its mobile app as its main product. This gives me promise for the app as other crypto exchanges use a mobile app as an afterthought to maximise reach, forgetting that a broken app will not do what they want. So, it would be interesting to see how the Alttex team conquer a relatively broken side of the market with some competence. It would also be interesting to see if this becomes a wakeup call for competitors. I am all for options and would love to see more competition between exchange services as that means more power to the consumer!

The Alttex Exchange has an interesting twist compared to other exchanges. It has peer-to-peer functionality. So, that means no middle-men, no third-party fees. This is extremely cool as it makes sure that the funds are safer as there is no central body holding the funds. This is what cryptocurrency should be, decentralized! It shouldn’t be centralized! Not by people, not by exchanges!

I will be honest, this is a rather interesting inclusion to an exchange app. I wouldn’t have thought it would be necessary to have a private messaging platform on an exchange. But Alttex has put that initiative forward! I believe that having a proper human element especially on a platform that uses P2P trading would help build trust between users intending to trade. However, it is important to note that people may abuse this functionality with spams and scams. So, I am definitely curious to see how Alttex will rectify this risk.

This is a pretty standard fare. However, it is something that still needs to be brought up to ask a question. Why do some exchanges still only use BTC and ETH? Having multicoin functionality in your wallet allows for such an increase in userbase! An increase that Alttex can now take advantage of!

Okay, now THIS is what I am talking about. Actually being able to exchange your crypto for goods and services. This is groundbreaking! My main gripe with cryptocurrency is that too many people just HODL and speculate without actually using it as a, you know, CURRENCY! Currencies are meant to be traded for goods and services and with Alttex’s Cryptoshop YOU CAN!

Technology is an exponential curve. As hardware improves, software cannot lag behind. Alttex has plans to implement things like FaceID (a revolutionary means of security) into their app. This suggests to me that they are willing to evolve with the times and not limit themselves to the usual 2FA that other apps use.

I gave a look through their team’s LinkedIn pages to check them out. The founding team is quite diverse in their choices with engineers and bankers on their resumes. Good stuff! I hope to see lots more come out of this team!

Why is Alttex important?

Alttex will revolutionise how cryptocurrencies function on a mass market. Not everyone uses a desktop or laptop frequently. However, almost everyone who’s anyone uses a phone.
