Hello everyone. I really hope that everyone everywhere is doing great during coronavirus pandemic. So this is Sumit And as i wrote in my previous introduction that i belong to India I'm from Jharkhand State of India. It is a big state and i belong to a city from jharkhand state called Jamshedpur Jharkhand is a state in eastern India. It's known for its waterfalls, the elegant Jain temples of Parasnath Hill and the elephants and tigers of Betla National Park. The state capital of Ranchi is a gateway to the park.

(1). Infrastructure Push

Infrastructure sector is a key driver for the Indian economy. The sector is highly responsible for propelling India’s overall development and enjoys intense focus from Government for initiating policies that would ensure time-bound creation of world class infrastructure in the country. Infrastructure sector includes power, bridges, dams, roads and urban infrastructure development. India was ranked 44th out of 167 countries in World Bank's Logistics Performance Index 2018. India is ranked second in the 2019 Agility Emerging Markets Logistics Index.

In 2019, it was the world's eighth-largest destination for FDI, capturing $49 billion, a 16% increase over the previous year. ... Another good news story is India's improving infrastructure, as the building of railways, highways, rural roads and electricity generation capacities gathers steam and ports are modernized.

Government initiatives

The Government of India is expected to invest highly in the infrastructure sector, mainly highways, renewable energy and urban transport. The Government of India is taking every possible initiative to boost the infrastructure sector. Announcements in Union Budget 2019-20.

India plans to spend US$ 1.4 trillion on infrastructure in the next five years. In the Union Budget 2020-21, the Government of India has given a massive push to the infrastructure sector by allocating Rs 1,69,637 crore (US$ 24.27 billion) for the transport infrastructure.Water supply to be provided to all households in 500 cities. As per Union Budget 2020-2021, Metro rail network has touched 657 KM and Ministry of Railways have been allocated Rs 72,216 crore (US$ 10.33 billion)

Construction of new Roads and upgradation of existing Roads & Highways. Construction of new Airports and upgradation of existing Airports. Construction of new Township for the State Capital. Construction of Air Cargo Complex at Ranchi

So from the above description you can see the Indian government is planning really big to improve the infrastructure development in India. For now the roads dams rivers are not well developed but it doesn't mean that it has to stay that way and this will be improved. So in the Next Five Year plan the infrastructure development will be improved in most of cities and i hope this plan does include my city as well

(2). Technical Development

As we all know that we all are currently living in a world full of technology,And the new technologies have made our lives really Easier but not everywhere in India. There are still various small towns and villages where there is even no electricity available. I live in a city but i used to live in village before so i visit there most of the time and i do realize that technical development haven't even taken placed in some local areas. There are no technical machines available to make work faster works that can be done by machines in few mintues is being done by the labour force in hours that is time consuming but it's all because of lack of technical development here.

Science, technology and innovation have had a great impact on economic growth and social development in India. The Government moved from scientific policy resolution to the technology policy statement to the science and technology policy and finally to the science, technology and innovation policy . These are illustrative of the commitment to science and technology by successive governments, as also the welcome emphasis on the importance of science led technology led innovation over a period of time.

The services sector is the key driver of India's economic growth. The sector has contributed 54.17 per cent of India's Gross Value Added at current price in 2018-19. Indian technology grew in a denial driven mode in the pre-liberalised India. Foreign technologies were denied because of lack of resource as well as a closed economy in the pre-libralised era. They were also denied due to security and strategic reasons. It was through the path of ‘technonationalism’ that India developed self-reliance through its own technologies in both civilian sectors as well as strategic sectors such as space, defence, nuclear energy, and supercomputers.

Unemployment in India statistics has traditionally been collected, compiled and disseminated once every five years by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, primarily from sample studies conducted by the National Sample Survey Office. Other than these 5 year sample studies, India has except since 2017 never routinely collected monthly, quarterly or yearly nationwide employment and unemployment statistics. In 2016, Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy a non-government entity based in Mumbai, started sampling and publishing monthly unemployment in India statistics.

The rural and informal sectors of the Indian labour market accounted for 93% of the employment in 2011, and these jobs were not covered by the then existing Indian labour laws.According to the 2010 World Bank report, "low-paying, relatively unproductive, informal sector jobs continue to dominate the labor market. The informal sector dominates India’s labour markets and will continue to do so in the medium term", states the World Bank, and even if the definition of the "formal sector is stretched to include all regular and salaried workers, some 335 million workers were employed in the informal sector

Unemployment has always been one of the Major issues in India so do in my city or entirely state. Most of the people work as a labour for daily wages unfortunately most of them are uneducated and belong to poor families so they never had money to study at that time. As of now the entire world is suffering from pandemic. India is on lockdown since more than last 58 days continously. The workers are stuck in different parts of the world they can't even go home also they are not getting any work to do. Also the people who have jobs companies industries are on shutdown so even the educated people who have good jobs are earning nothing in these days.

According to the Pew Research Center, a significant majority of Indians consider the lack of employment opportunities as a "very big problem" in their country. "About 18.6 million Indians were jobless and another 393.7 million work in poor-quality jobs vulnerable to displacement", states the Pew report.

So above is the official pew reports and the results are just critical. So you can imagine how unemployment in India has became a major issues.

Government initiates to provide some relief

The Union government is planning to give unemployment benefits to a section of organised workers who may lose their jobs due to the coronavirus pandemic. This will be along the lines of measures taken by some countries such as the United States to combat the impact of the pandemic, also known as COVID-19, on the working population.

The government’s ‘Atal Beema Vyakti Kalyan Yojana’, which provides unemployment insurance to workers who have subscribed to the Employees’ State Insurance scheme, will cover such workers during the pandemic. The ESI is a self-financing health insurance scheme for formal sector workers in India managed by the Employees State Insurance Corporation.

Under the scheme, which has been operational since July 2018, workers who become unemployed get compensation in the form of cash up to three months of unemployment. But this can be availed only once in a lifetime.

“The labour and employment ministry is looking to extend the scheme and allow workers to avail of unemployment insurance if they are impacted by coronavirus,” a senior government official said.

Workers get cash to the tune of 25 per cent of the average salary that they were getting in the last two years of their job under this scheme. However, an important condition for workers to get the unemployment benefit is that they should have been a subscriber of the ESIC for at least two years. When the scheme was made effective in July 2018, around 1 million workers were eligible.
