Success Is Not A Consequence Of Hard Work - Steemit Virus Contest

in #contest7 years ago

Hello wonderful people! I am here once again to do a picture interpretation to enter for the @steemit-virus contest #6!

Looking at this pictures, many ideas come to my brain. So i will be giving the picture some interpretations and i hope you can relate with it.

We have many motivational speakers who have linked success with hard work. In most of their words, you will always find hard work in between it.

Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do. Source

So hard work seems to be the ground or passage to success. In most cases, these people do not tell us what it is to be hard working! What am i saying?

Here is Nigeria, we have a lot of hard working individuals who cannot call themselves 'successful'. Have you seen wheelbarrow pushers before? These people will load any goods on their barrow and push it  from miles to miles and in the end, they are given 100-200 naira (less than 1 sbd). You see them sweating, they are always working come rain come sun.

In most cases, you will pity them if you see what they wear. These people work to feed their mouths and send little money to village for their family. This is an example of people working very hard to survive and do not near success! Or perhaps you consider eating three square meals as being successful?

The above scenario is lesser when you compare them with those that carry these goods on their heads (alabaru as they are called here in Lagos). You will see able-bodied men carrying heavy loads to earn 200 naira (less than 1sbd) just to survive. They also walk from miles to miles before they can be given their money. These people have rumpled forehead because of the loads they have carried on their heads. These people can also afford meals a day. So they are hard working but are they successful?

Can i also talk about the most workers who wake up 5:00 am to go to work and come back 8-10: pm due to traffic. These people work Monday to Friday. Unlike the developed countries where they work based on hours, here we work 10-12 hours a day. These people graduates and work diligently but they cannot say they are successful.

Being success as far as am concerned is a relative term! The relativism lie on what you want to be successful in and whether you achieve it or not determines whether you can be called successful. But in this case, i am looking at success from a general view which is linked to being financially independent.

It is possible you call yourself a successful being because you just bought a car, build a new house, graduated from the school but the question is are you financially independent?

As human beings, we need more than hard work to be successful. You need to have good vision, good business acumen, investment guru and you need to be open to  different ideas. While the person pushing wheelbarrow makes less than 1sbd, you that you are a graduate make more than 5sbd a day. The difference between the two of you will not be measured by your hard work but out come. By out come, i mean success.

No matter how hard working you are, it is not a guarantee that you will be successful. Aim higher!

Thanks for reading and hope this motivates you to strive more and go higher!

Humm, Bro you nailed it... But I won't rule HARDWORK out of the road to be successful..... Although I believe in grace too

Yea! Grace fine! But success is more than hardwork!

Most handwork that more hectic have less result than the ones that arent,in term of success.
Its not by how much sweat you let out but the value of your work

You have a good point! Thanks! 👍

Williams Shakespeare said the pen is mightier than the sword
This implies physical strength or attributes aren't a qualification for success
I strongly agree with your points.
I also want to add that academic success isn't a true definition of success rather, financial independence and investment strategies

Yeah 💪! Thanks for your your contribution. 👍

This is impressive I must say. I celebrate your ink.
To succeed hard work is require but not a guarantee you achieve success.

Planing, wisdom, knowledge acquisition, direction and knowing the right thing to do will do for success.

Yeah 💪
Thanks for your contribution brother! 👍

Are you financially independent? That question is really deep and very important to everyone of us. Success doesnt determine how hard you worked or so. I love this and it is really motivating

Thank you sister! 👍

I can remember those days in our primary schools where they thought us that hardwork is success..then now we have grown to be able to test its valid data for truth...base on the situation our environment is upon.. indeed hardwork is not success, but can contribute to it, while to me, Attitude is success, because it is the Supreme roof that covers all

Thank you! Good attitude is good too.

Great job, good luck on the contest !

Thank you! 😀👍

True bro @smyle but then in most cases we need to match a little effort to our vision and pray the God factor is smiling on our little effort

Yes! You are very correct! Thanks.
