A Visualized god Should Not Take Charge of Your Life
Hello great people! @steemit-virus is here again with another wonderful contest. Steemit Virus contest is about creativity. Today, I will be doing an interpretation of a unique picture. It is actually a god-like figure. I hope you find my interpretations interesting.
A closer look at the picture above shows there is an animal-like figure and a human being. The human is tiny on the left-downside of the image. The human looks up to the creature which also suggest the creature is bigger than the human and possibly coming from somewhere higher.
As human beings, we are full of many aspirations and fantasies. We are beings with amazing imaginations and we are capable of bringing many things to life. Fictions are created to bring those things we thought of but could not bring to reality by way of acting or putting them into writing.
Growing up, I always visualize the possibility of a god coming from the sky. We hear about the trumpet (end time) almost every day on the street or inside the bus. Preachers talk about how beautiful it will be when the trumpet sounds and the saints are taken to heaven.
In our time of trials, we look up to the sky and wish help can come from their by virtue of seeing something like a creature coming down like fire! There are times I will be in the room and I would wish I can just command anything to fall from heaven!
Whenever I hear of accident on the road, I would imagine the possibility of a god coming down from heaven to avert it. You know things are not always rosy and life is not a bed of roses. Have you also been in this situation before?
Also, some of these gods have funny histories. When you read the story of Sango (god of thunder), you wonder what you would have done if you were alive then. Imagine you are talking to someone with fire as his breathe!
All these ideas of gods create fear in me. There are times that i could not walk in darkness alone because I always felt there is something in the darkness that would take me away(Like i would just disappear). This contributed to series of nightmares I had as a child.
We need to understand that we are humans and we have the power to imagine the impossibilities. We should not let these imaginations create unnecessary fear in us that will stop us from achieving our goals in life.
In African societies, gods are to be venerated and their dos and don’t are to be obeyed. The human in the picture looks very inferior and perhaps offended the supposed sky-god. Like the film Thor, we need to challenge our fears and face the oppressor.
Because something is a god, doesn’t mean it should take over all our life like a remote-control. We need to take charge of our life and realize that whatever we visualize about gods stays in the realm which it belong – imagination.
