One of My Happiest Moment

The saying goes, sometimes when you least expect, God throws you some sweetener to make it all worthwhile. I have been the luckier lot amongst my artist friends. Some of them barely make ends meet. I was engaged by a publisher of a comic magazine, I do freelance work and now I teach arts in a creative design school in Cyberjaya. So, I guess I am a little more blessed.

I saw @pinstory's work and I am amazed with this girl. She is quite an optimist. I guess anyone who is down and feel bad about themselves ought to take the positive attitude that she takes towards life.

I like to share my work, not because I think they are good, but because I am proud of my work. I saw many good artists here such as @coloringiship, @anasgallery and @sam.hsuu and this is just #teammalaysia. Can't imagine if I were to start looking around the globe.

Here is one piece that won me a car

This is a company that produces pen, pencils and other writing materials. So, I thought that there ought to be some colours. This is their original logo.

But unlike the normal contests where the winners are informed beforehand, we were asked to attend the prize giving without knowing what we won. I thought I may get some vouchers or a certificate, but it was a pleasant surprise, the gave me a mock key! I am so happy with the mock key. The key represent a recognition of my work. My wife was happier with the car, it means she gets a flashy car to go to wet market in the weekends.

I guess all artists are the same. It doesn't matter if we sing a song in Carnegie Hall or in Jalan Alor. If our work is recognised and appreciated, it means the world to us. That must be the reason why many of us are still poor. But its okay, passion drives us. In my case, I drive a new Hyundai!
