Imagine being a child, who is on his first trip to one of the largest national parks in Venezuela, "La Gran Sabana". For that time my homeland was not a country in crisis, which gave wonderful opportunities to know new places in my own land.
It all started when we stopped mainly to take directions in a small bar-restaurant, which is located on the side of the road that leads to "Santa Elena de Uairen". Upon entering my parents went directly to talk to the owner of the place, looking for a safe way to reach the border between Brazil and Venezuela. Just as I entered my world, I turned around in a slow motion and we were just him and I, in my native tongue, my expression towards my mother was "MAMÁ MIRA A ESE GATO GIGANTE". I went straight to hug him, my innocent mind made me think he was a big cat and did not show any fear. Minutes later the natives with great respect and attention explained to me that the call for my "Big cat" was a mammal part of the wild fauna of the Bolivar state called ocelot.
