Christian saints discovered the Asian world much before the enlightened West

Herat is the 2nd largest city in Afghanistan. One of its unusual treasures is the Pahlavi inscribed cross. A christian motiff about 1200 years old. Pahlavi is the ancient language of Khorasan, One of the largest provinces of Iran. Such crosses have also been found in south India. This is cited as one of the proofs that early christian saints did travel far and wide to spread the word of god. There is even a mention of conversion of a nomad tribe by miracle.- Nasrani.net

Early Christianity developed in Syriac Aramaic. When the Churches in Jerusalem and Antioch became Hellenised and adopted Greek as their religio cultural language, the Syriac Churches continued Syriac as their religio cultural language. Many cite this as a proof of the Asia connection. It may be true to some extent, we see a Pahlavi Psalter found in Turfan in the Xinjiang- Uighur region of China.

To top it all there are many who write that St Thomas or Jesus Christ himself came as far as India and died in the Kashmir Valley. The argument is very convincing though lacks any specific proof. Hers a bite from Wikipedia -
In 1887, a Russian war correspondent, Nicolas Notovitch, claimed that while at the Hemis Monastery in Ladakh, he had learned of the document "Life of Saint Issa, Best of the Sons of Men" – Isa being the Arabic name of Jesus in Islam.
