I was opportune to take some students geography years ago and this has helped me to know one or two things about our beloved planet earth. Earth is the third planet from the Sun and is the largest of the terrestrial planets. We have the Mercury, Venus and the Earth. The Earth was formed several billion years ago and is the only known planet to support life. Studies made us understand that the earth is spherical and this enables two things (1) It made God to sit on this planet, Isaiah 40:22a: It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth (2) the sphericity of the earth made it accessible for anyone who have the time like Ferdinand Magellan to circumnavigate the earth. Another beautiful thing about earth that I took cognizant of is the presence of Oxygen and carbon dioxide, it makes man and vegetation (plants) to cohabit i.e we(man) breath in Oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide while the plants breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen, my point is we need the plant to survive and the plant needs us to survive. The earth is protected from the direct Penetration of the sun by the ozone layer, this disallow the sun to enter the earth directly. It also has a satellite in the name of the moon. I said earlier that it is the only planet that support life, nothing can survive in mercury for it is closer to the soon therefore made it impossible for anything to survive, Venus is also to the sun, mars has no presence of oxygen, Pluto is extremely cold therefore nothing can survive there both plant and animal. Earth is the only planet that can retain the existence of man that's why we have great minds like @surpassinggoogle, @tojukaka, @royalheir, @barineka still breathing because of the presence of this wonderful gases.
