MINNOWS FEEDING FRENZY – SEASON 1 ROUND 3 – 5 SBD Prize Pool so far

in #contest7 years ago (edited)

Welcome to Round 3 of Season 1 of the

MINNOWS FEEDING FRENZY!!

(“Minnows Feeding Frenzy” is a chance-based survival contest, where game outcomes are decided by two factors: a random name picker and a die. No direct action is required on behalf of the players for the duration of the entire season. New rounds are published on a daily basis. The complete set of rules and explanation of the game mechanics can be found in the Season Registration post.)

We are about to begin face-offs in Round 3. First the pairs will be formed, using a random name picker. The pairs will be posted in the comments below. When two minnows with non-equal weights meet in a face-off, the larger one automatically wins, and proceeds to the next round, having grown by the loser’s weight. If two minnows have the exactly same weight, then I will roll a die for each pair of players to decide the face-off’s outcome in each pair. The comments will be updated, one by one, after every dice roll. Once all face-offs are completed, this post will be updated with the list of minnows perished in Round 3 and those who proceeded further to the next round, along with their updated weights.

This is a link to the previous round

For the sake of transparency anyone can freely view (but not edit, obviously) the spreadsheet where I keep the records of players, individual face-offs in each round, dice roll results, players’ weights, and the outcomes of every round.

13 Minnows have survived Round 2. They will now face each other in the comments below.

Let the Feeding Frenzy begin!!

@emble
@kubbyelizabeth
@chamudiliyanage

A few words regarding upvotes of this post. Right now the Prize Pool for the Season 1 is slightly over 5 SBD (50% of the estimated SBD payout for the Season Registration Post). Potential earnings from each round’s post are adding to the Prize Pool (50% of every round’s post’s SBD payout). The more upvotes each round receives, the greater will the total prize pool become. It is not mandatory to upvote, but it will increase the payout to minnows with three largest weights achieved by the end of the season. It is therefore in the self-interest of all the minnows remaining in the game to upvote and promote the Season’s posts.

And please remember: all the outcomes are decided purely by chance. So no hard feelings if you get eliminated, okay? ;)

Sort:

1. @clumsysilverdad, weight 200 g
VS
2. @chamudiliyanage, weight 150 g

A big dinner for an even bigger fish. If you need to imagine the fight between @clumsysilverdad and @chamudiliyanage, picture Mayweather vs. McGregor. Then picture its exact opposite – because that’s what has gone down in the fight between these two minnows. @clumsysilverdad had to work to overpower their slightly smaller opponent, but the resulting feast was worth the effort and the risk. @clumsysilverdad now weighs the impressive 350 g and continues their swim to Round 4.

my goodness, i am one badass minnow, i never knew !! (-: ty

Turns out you are! :) The dice says so, so it must be true. ;)

1. @mela913, weight 150 g
VS
2. @rkrijgsman, weight 150 g

Dice roll 6. As @mela913 takes a fighting stance and prepares to battle for their life, @rkrijgsman takes a closer look at their opponent and says in disbelief: ‘Mela??’
‘What the heck?’, thinks @mela913 at first, but then: ‘Robin?! What are you doing here, buddy?’
‘Just trying to survive, like everyone else.’
‘But you’re not thinking of doing it at the cost of my life, Rob, old friend?’
‘Haha, definitely not, Mela-fella’!’

The two minnows chat amiably for a while, gossiping about their common friends and acquaintances, then shake fins and continue each on their own way towards Round 4. Their weights remain unchanged, 150 g each.

Haha omg, this text is amazing :D Probably not gonna win the feeding frenzy but these stories make it an unique experience! Thanks for letting me laugh!

1. @pipiczech, weight 150 g
VS
2. @starke, weight 100 g

This one was close. Both minnows were close in size and weight to each other. After a prolonged and exhausting fight, in which many blows and bites were exhanged, only one fish emerged as a winner. And that was @pipiczech. Their new weight is 250 g and they swim on to Round 4.

I am still alive, wow.

1. @cryptastic, weight 100 g
VS
2. @scrooger, weight 200 g

The odds are just too uneven in this fight. Twice as large, twice as heavy, twice as mean as their opponent, @scrooger doesn’t leave @cryptastic any chance to defend themselves. Maybe @scrooger would have liked to have a bigger fish for breakfast, but that small minnow will have to do, for now. Weighing 300 g now, @scrooger swims further to Round 4.

Congratulations, big fellow! ;)

1. @raserrano, weight 200 g
VS
2. @emble, weight 100 g

@emble is a smart minnow. They see right away what is about to happen and tries to escape. @raserrano is having a bit of a hard time chasing a lighter and more agile potential prey. But @raserrano is hungry. Really hungry. In the end @emble’s little gills fail to provide their body with oxygen necessary to push them out of the harm’s way. The finale of this dramatic mad swim is short and the outcome is obvious. No need to recite the gory details of what ensues next. @raserrano burned some fat during the chase, but now they can recover their weight losses by consuming the smaller minnow’s body. @raserrano now weighs 300 g and proceeds to Round 4.

1. @kubbyelizabeth, weight 150 g
VS
2. @sixexgames, weight 150 g

Dice roll 4. As the two small minnows prepare to decide their destiny in a battle, @sixexgames exclaims: ‘Kubby, is that really you?! After all these years?’ @kubbyelizabeth stops for a second to take a closer look – and that’s their fatal mistake. Despite the years spent together in the minnows school, survival trumps friendship on the list of @sixexgames’ top priorities. They viciously attack the hapless @kubbyelizabeth and soon it’s over. With their last tremble of gills @kubbyelizabeth whispers: ‘Why?..’ and then her little minnow mind fades into darkness. ‘Minnow does what minnow’s gotta do’, mumbles @sixexgames in between the bites. Having fed on their former classmate, @sixexgames’ weight is now 300 g. They swim to Round 4 feeling heavy with the fallen @kubbyelizabeth’s weight in their belly – and the weight of guilty consciousness on their mind.

Nooooooo!!!!! I've been defeated, didn't see this coming. How could you attack me? After all those years in minnow school together? The memories made, the selfies we shared, all the ice cream dates!!! 😭

@venny, weight 150 g, is the odd one out. @venny swims around for a while, but doesn’t meet any predator or even a fellow minnow. Unable to channel their aggression or satiate their hunger in this round, they swim on to Round 4 with their weight unchanged.
