Hell yes I would pick up the spatula. Good restaurant utensils are hard to find after It happened.

I could cook on it over an open flame, swat flies with it, use it as a signaling device by waving it in the sun like a mirror, sharpen it and use it as a knife, use it as a fan if I get hot. Could be a splint if I broke my arm, scratch my back with it, or throw it at the persons watching me pick it up.
